As an avid sim racer, I am always looking for ways to improve my setup. Good sim racing hardware is of course essential, but an often underexposed part of your setup is undoubtedly the sim racing chair. A good seat is essential - you want to be comfortable but also have a realistic and ergonomic posture. Long racing sessions demand a lot from your body and one of the biggest problems I encountered was overheating. After an hour of racing, the sweating started and that affected not only comfort but also performance.

When I was at Sim Formula Europe got in touch with O-Rouge, I heard about their innovative and revolutionary O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2 and my interest was immediately piqued. A sim racing seat with active ventilation? That sounded like a brilliant idea!

In my setup, I built a wind simulator that mimics airflow while racing, but O-Rouge tackled the problem at the source: not by blowing air past your face and arms, but by removing heat directly from the seat itself. Fantastic!

Now, several months on, I've been given the opportunity to see the O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2 be allowed to test extensively and reviewen. I have been using the Cold Fusion C2 for several weeks now and in this comprehensive review I share my experience with this unique sim racing seat. We discuss installation, comfort, the ventilation system and, of course, the pros and cons! Are you ready for it? Let's go!

Who is O-Rouge?

To fully understand the O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2 and the innovative power behind this chair, we need to take a step back and look at the company behind it. O-Rouge is not a standard manufacturer of sim racing equipment, but a brand born out of pure passion for motorsport and an in-depth knowledge of technology. The man behind this brand, Tom Castermans, has an impressive background in motorsport and knows better than anyone how crucial ergonomics, comfort and technology are for top performance.

O-Rouge is an innovative Belgian brand that translates the motorsport experience into sim racing. The company was founded by Tom Castermans, an engineer with a deep passion for motorsport. In 2012, Tom founded Tenco DDM on, a company specialising in the production of high-quality sim racing products. From this expertise emerged O-Rouge, aiming to provide sim racers with the most realistic and comfortable experience. All products are designed, manufactured and assembled in Belgium, with a focus on detail, craftsmanship and innovation.

What makes O-Rouge unique is their innovative approach. Where other brands limit themselves to standard bucket seats, O-Rouge looks for real solutions for sim racers. With a background in elite sports and a drive for innovation, O-Rouge continues to push the boundaries of sim racing. This is a brand by racers, for racers - with technologies that not only stand out, but actually improve performance. The Cold Fusion C2 is a perfect example: instead of a traditional seat, O-Rouge offers active ventilation, making long racing sessions more comfortable.

O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2

The O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2 is not just another sim racing chair; it is a perfect blend of innovation, comfort and design. From the revolutionary ventilation system to the high-quality materials and ergonomic design, everything about this chair has been designed with one goal: to provide the ultimate sim racing experience. Below, I discuss the key features and unique functions of this chair.

Revolutionary Sim Racing Seat

The O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2 is a revolutionary sim racing seat distinguished by an innovative ventilation system. This system prevents excessive sweating and increases both user comfort and performance. But how does this seat perform in practice? In this review, I share my in-depth analysis and experience.

Revolutionary ventilation system: stay cool, race longer

Every sim racer knows the problem: during long racing sessions, sweating starts, which is not only uncomfortable but also negatively affects your concentration and performance. Over time, this can even lead to slimetage and unpleasant odours in the seat. Uncomfortable in other words!

The Cold Fusion C2 tackles this problem directly with a ventilated back and seat zone. Four strategically placed fans ensure that excess heat is dissipated, while a special 3D woven fabric optimises air circulation. Where a wind simulator the wind blows from the front or from the side, the O-Rouge C2 therefore regulates this airflow from the seat. This means:

  • Less sweating and more comfort during long races
  • Better focus and performance as your body temperature remains better regulated
  • Longer chair life as moisture and heat have less impact on the upholstery

The result? A cooler and more comfortable driving experience that helps you perform at top level!

High-quality materials and premium workmanship

The O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2 oozes quality, both in look and feel. The chair is made of fibreglass-reinforced polyester, a material known for its high rigidity and low weight. This not only ensures a robust construction, but also makes the chair surprisingly light, which is ideal for a stable and reliable sim rig setup.

The EVO touring car style with integrated headrests gives the C2 a robust and impressive look, especially when compared to the C1 chair. This design not only adds to the tough character, but also enhances the racing feel and professional look of the chair.

The finish is as impressive as the design. The exterior has a glossy black fibreglass coating that gives the seat an aggressive and professional look. On the inside, soft black velour has been chosen, a material that is not only pleasant to the touch but also provides extra comfort during long racing sessions. As a finishing touch, embroidered logos have been subtly incorporated into the design, adding to the chair's premium look and feel. O-Rouge has paid visible attention to every detail, making the Cold Fusion C2 not only functional, but also a stylish addition to any sim racing setup.

Ergonomic design: deep and realistic seating position

A sim racing seat should not only be comfortable, but also offer a natural and supportive racing position. The Cold Fusion C2 is designed with a deeper seating position, making you sit lower and more firmly in the seat, similar to a real racing seat. This enhances the feeling of control and stability while racing.

The raised lower back and leg support provide extra support, making the chair ideal for long sessions without sacrificing comfort. The fit fits closely to the body, optimising sitting posture and minimising fatigue. Thanks to the removable seat cushions, there is room to adjust the chair to personal preference.

The sturdy fairing shape keeps you perfectly in place, even during aggressive steering movements and fierce force feedback of a direct drive wheel. This makes the C2 not only a comfortable choice, but also a functional upgrade for serious sim racers looking for maximum precision and realism.

Personalisation: make your chair unique

For those who want to fully customise their sim racing setup, O-Rouge offers extensive personalisation options for the Cold Fusion C2. A special template allows you to upload your own design and customise specific parts of the seat. This opens the door to unique colours, personalised patterns and embroidered logos, allowing the seat to perfectly match your style or team branding.

This customisation option makes the Cold Fusion C2 particularly interesting for eSport teams, content creators and avid sim racers who want to perfect their setup down to the smallest details. With the optional design allowance, O-Rouge also offers guidance in creating a unique and professional look, making each seat not only functional but also a visual statement. Well, it's certainly a nice addition, but also no more than that. For me personally, this would never be an option to consider although I can well imagine that for some people it is a nice and unique addition.

Price of the O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2

The O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2 is a premium sim racing seat with an innovative ventilation solution and an ergonomic EVO design with comfort padding. Let's face it: the O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2 is not a budget seat. With a starting price of €884.99 and additional costs of up to €250 for customisation, it is in a higher price range than many standard sim racing chairs. But is that a bad thing? No, absolutely not.

When you choose O-Rouge, you are not just choosing a chair - you are choosing innovation, comfort and craftsmanship. The revolutionary ventilation system is something you won't find anywhere else, which makes a world of difference during long racing sessions. Add to that the high build quality, ergonomics and customisation options and you understand why this chair is in a class of its own.

Packaging & contents

The O-Rouge C2 is delivered in a, rather large and plain box that features red and white O-Rouge tape. Inside the box you will find the C2 Cold Fusion seat with the necessary protective material to protect it. Finally, you will find a small white box containing the mounting material, the adapter and several mains adapter pieces. My kids loved the box and knew how to make a fun hut out of this! You can understand that they are already real ambassadors of O-Rouge too! 😉

Montage & installation: simple and quick

Now that we have unpacked the chair, it is time to assemble it. Assembling the O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2 is surprisingly easy and a piece of cake. Within minutes, this chair is ready to use. With just four screws, I firmly attach the chair to my Sim-Lab Bucket Seat Bracket and Sim-Lab P1X Cockpit. The fit is perfect, without any play or wobble. In short, no hassle or frustration when fitting this new seat.

A new chair always means getting used to and adjusting. After more than four years in the Sim-Lab Speed 1, which has a much flatter design, the transition to the O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2 was noticeable. In this seat, you sit deeper, which immediately gives a more realistic racing seat feel. Super nice!

In my case, I did have to experiment with the angle at which I mounted the C2 to find the perfect seating position. With the many angle options in which you can mount the seat on the bucket seat bracket, this was a simple process. A few small adjustments to the tilt and height quickly made a big difference, eventually allowing me to find the perfect, ergonomic racing position. As a result, the seat not only feels comfortable, but also contributes to a realistic and stable driving experience.

All you have to do after that is connect the 12V adapter to the electronic controller of the ventilation system, connect it to the mains and attach the controller to a convenient place with double-sided tape, so you can easily adjust the ventilation setting during intense races.

Once that is taken care of, you are ready to race - with a perfectly cooled seating position. Designed with convenience in mind, the Cold Fusion C2 will have you enjoying its innovative comfort and performance in no time.

My user experience with the O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2

After quite a few hours of racing in the O-Rouge Cold Fusion C2, I can say with certainty that this chair has had a positive impact on my sim racing experience. The unique ventilation system really does its job, even in the winter months when I tested the chair. My sim racing room is small and heat from the PC often stays under my sim racing roof hang. But by setting the chair to even the lowest ventilation setting, I immediately noticed a big difference and the chair is - literally - a breath of fresh air! This bodes well for hot summer days. The seat's comfort is very nice and the deeper seating position puts you in a more realistic racing position. The premium fibreglass construction and velour upholstery give the chair a luxurious look and extra comfort.

What works well for me is to turn on the ventilation a few minutes before a race. That way you immediately get into a cool seat. But even if you switch it on during a stint, you notice an immediate difference. You have to position and fix the control knob yourself with the pre-installed double-sided tape, which is personally very nice so you can be sure the control box is in the best place for you in your setup.

One small point of concern is the headrest, which often gets in the way when using VR. If you race a lot with a VR headset and move your head frequently, this can be a drawback. This does not mean that VR is completely unusable with this chair, but it is something to consider when making your purchase. The combination of this chair and the Pimax Crystal Light is not a suitable combination, and something I did not find annoying in my Sim-Lab Speed 1 chair.

While I am hugely satisfied with the C2, there is one missed opportunity: the seat cannot be connected to the PC via USB, making it incompatible with SimHub. How great would it be if the ventilation automatically reacted to racing conditions, for example by blowing harder when the cockpit temperatures are high? Unfortunately, this is not possible in the current model, but I know O-Rouge has this feature on its wishlist for a future model. Hopefully this will become a reality in the future, as it would make the seat even more innovative.

Another thing to consider is the noise of the fans. They make a fair amount of noise, especially on the higher settings. If - like me - you always race with a headset, this is not a big problem. But if you prefer to race without a headset, the noise can be distracting. So this depends entirely on your personal preference and setup.

Frankly, I am positively surprised by O-Rouge's complexity and well thought-out solution. The C2 is not just and chair with fans, but a technically well thought-out solution. For example, the fabric of the cushions is different from the rest of the chair: lighter, breathable and cool to the touch. Also, the seat cushions are not removable, as ventilation channels are incorporated into the foam to dissipate heat directly. Details like these really make a difference and characterise the Cold Fusion as a technically sophisticated product.
