Why the Vero Motion Champion GTR is interesting

The Vero Motion Champion GTR positions itself as the variant for maximum travel and carrying capacity. The GTR version offers 150 mm of travel (6 inches) and a load capacity of up to 800 kg. That gives you two practical advantages:

2. You keep margin left in motion, so you don't have to set motion cues as aggressively to still feel them convincingly.

What you feel during sim racing

3DOF motion is all about feedback in the moments that make or break your lap time:

• Braking: you feel pitch building towards the braking zone and you recognise more quickly when you are braking too aggressively or missing pressure.
• Kerbs and height differences: heave makes compression and coasting tangible, allowing you to better estimate how much curb you can take without pushing the car off balance.
• Fast turns and direction changes: roll gives you an extra layer of information on lateral load, especially in high-speed sections.

If you are mainly looking for traction loss or “loosening” at the rear, then a 6DOF system like Vero Motion Legend is a better fit. The Vero Motion Champion GTR remains a 3DOF system and thus focuses on pitch, roll and heave.

Installation and compatibility

Vero Motion supplies montage brackets for aluminium extrusion cockpits along with it. You install the actuators, level your rig and build your motion profiles in SimHub or SRS. Take installation seriously: the rigidity of your cockpit, your mounting points and your cable management will determine how tight the whole thing feels.
