If you've ever invested heavily in a Fanatec setup, then you know how exciting that first drive is. But also how frustrating it can be when something goes wrong afterwards - and you need support. Good news: Fanatec has listened. From now on, the brand offers as standard 3-year warranty on new purchases and is the return period doubled to 30 days.
A big step forward, especially in a market where reliability and customer-friendliness are still not always taken for granted.
Fanatec warranty: what exactly has changed?
Fanatec made two important changes with effect from 3 June 2025:
- 3-year warranty on all new products
This applies to purchases through Fanatec itself or through official retailers. The warranty period will automatically appear in your Fanatec account once your order has been delivered. - Return period extended to 30 days
So you now have a month to try out a product and return it if necessary. Ideal if, for example, you are unsure between two wheelbases or a new pedal set.
These changes apply worldwide in all official sales regions - so also just in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Why Fanatec is doing this now
Fanatec wants to do more than just supply hardware. They want to regain trust after a difficult 2024. Because let's face it: in recent years, there were plenty of complaints about slow deliveries, laborious RMA processes and poor communication. Since the takeover by Corsair, however, a clear new course has been set. And it really seems to be going in the right direction now.
"This is more than just a policy change. It is a clear signal of our confidence in our products - and in our customers," Fanatec said.
You can also see this in other decisions, such as recently releasing higher torque on certain wheelbases with the QR2 Lite adapter, without having to pay extra.

What exactly does this guarantee entail?
The new three-year limited warranty covers manufacturing defects and faults under normal use. Does a product not work as it should? Then it will be repaired or replaced free of charge. Is the original product no longer available? Then you will get an equivalent or newer model.
Note that the warranty applies per individual product within a bundle. If your handlebars break, you won't suddenly get a whole new set. And damage due to misuse, modifications or slijtage is, as always, outside the warranty.
Briefly:
- Defect = replacement or repair, free of charge.
- Follow-up product possible in case of replacement.
- New warranty period: 3 years or at least 30 days after replacement.
- No warranty in case of: misuse, third-party parts, damaged serial numbers or normal weartage.

What does this mean for you as a sim racer?
Very simple: more peace of mind on an expensive purchase. Whether you are just starting out in sim racing or have been racing in endurance leagues for years - it just feels better when you know your purchase is well covered.
Suppose you order a new DD+ or Clubsport V3 pedals and after two years something exhibits cracks. You used to be out of warranty then, now you're just covered. And with a longer return period, you also have a bit more breathing space if you have doubts about whether something fits your rig.
Conclusion
With this move, Fanatec shows that they want to be more than just a manufacturer of high-quality sim racing hardware. They want to be a brand you can build on. A brand that not only delivers, but also protects - and grows with - the community. And that, if you ask me, is a step that is long overdue.
